Our History as an Industry Leader

Friedman and Bruya (F&B) is a women owned business, maintaining a long standing tradition as a small business functioning as a national and international leader in regulatory and specialty environmental testing and client consultation.  Since 1985, F&B has operated with the mission of providing both private and public sector clientele with highly defensible analytical results, on time, and at a competitive cost.

Building upon early success in developing on-site testing methodology for Superfund site applications, F&B has since established a 12,000 square foot facility in the heart of Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood.  F&B’s achievements over the years can be measured by an extremely high client retention rate.

F&B has devoted substantial resources into hiring and retaining a team of talented chemists and technicians.  The laboratory director, quality assurance officer, and department supervisors all have B.S. or Masters degrees in chemistry, and each has over 15 years of laboratory experience.  In addition, over 73% of all F&B staff are degreed chemists, including all project managers and analysts.  F&B’s staff experience and systematic approach to sample processing and instrument automation has given us the capability to achieve and maintain a high level of productivity.

F&B’s quality system is designed to meet or exceed the requirements set forth by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) and is maintained under supervision of the Oregon Health Authority.  F&B maintains certification for testing solid matrices (soil, sludge) and non potable water in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, and New Jersey.
